ลานประกอบพิธี

กองบัญชาการทหารสูงสุด ในขณะนั้นได้พิจารณาที่จะจัดสร้างลานประกอบพิธีขึ้นเป็นอันดับแรก

เริ่มการก่อสร้างเมื่อ 10 มิ.ย. 2525 แล้วเสร็จ พ.ย. 2526



• ลานประกอบพิธี มีความกว้าง 35 เมตร ยาว 70 เมตร ใช้สำหรับ ต้อนรับประมุขของประเทศหรือบุคคลสำคัญของชาติ และบุคคลสำคัญของต่างประเทศที่มาเยือน

อนุสรณ์สถานแห่งชาติอย่างเป็นทางการ ลานประกอบพิธีนี้ สามารถตั้งแถวกองเกียรติยศได้ 3 กองร้อย

• ด้านหน้าลานประกอบพิธีประดับธงประกอบพิธีด้านละ 6 ธง ประกอบด้วย ธงกองบัญชาการกองทัพไทย ธงกองทัพบก ธงกองทัพเรือ ธงกองทัพอากาศ ธงสำนักงาน

ตำรวจแห่งชาติ และธงอาสารักษาดินแดน และด้านข้างลานประกอบพิธี ประดับธงชาติไทยสลับธงชาติของผู้มาเยือนด้านละ 10 ธง

• ลานประกอบพิธีนี้ยังเป็นสถานที่ใช้ประกอบพิธีวางพวงมาลาในวันกองทัพไทย วันที่ 18 ม.ค. ของทุกปี (เดิมวันที่ 25 เม.ย.ของทุกปี ได้เปลี่ยนตามการนับใหม่) โดยมี

ผู้บัญชาการทหารสูงสุด ผู้บัญชาการเหล่าทัพ ผู้บัญชาการตำรวจแห่งชาติ ผู้อำนวยการกองอาสารักษาดินแดน ผู้แทนหน่วยขึ้นตรงกองทัพไทย และผู้แทนหน่วยขึ้นตรง กองบัญชาการกองทัพไทย มาวางพวงมาลาพร้อมเพรียงกัน อีกทั้งมีพิธีสงฆ์ เพื่ออุทิศส่วนกุศลให้กับผู้ที่สละชีวิตเพื่อชาติอีกด้วย

• ลานประกอบพิธี เป็นสถานที่ในการวางพวงมาลาในวันสำคัญต่าง ๆ ทางทหาร ตลอดจนบุคคลสำคัญทางทหาร ของต่างประเทศ และคณะผู้เข้าเยี่ยมชมอนุสรณ์สถาน

แห่งชาติ พิธีวางพวงมาลานี้ จะมีการเป่าแตรนอน โดยให้ผู้หรือคณะ ที่มาวางพวงมาลา ได้ยืนสงบจิตใจระลึกถึงผู้ที่สละชีวิตเพื่อชาติ ที่ให้เราได้มีผืนแผ่นดินไทยอาศัย

• สำหรับการวางพวงมาลานั้น เป็นการวางเคารพต่อดวงโคมนิรันดร์ประภา ซึ่งประดิษฐาน ณ บริเวณหน้าอาคารประกอบพิธี (ดูรายละเอียด ได้ที่ ดวงโคมนิรันดร์ประภา

ในอาคารประกอบพิธี ) โดยบรรจุดินที่ได้กระทำพิธีบวงสรวงและอัญเชิญ มาจากสมรภูมิสำคัญในประวัติศาสตร์ชาติไทยรวม 10 สมรภูมิ  (ดูรายละเอียด ได้ที่ดินสมรภูมิ ในอาคารประกอบพิธี) โดยดวงโคมนิรันดร์ประภา ฯ นี้ แทนดวงวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ของวีรชนไทยผู้เสียสละชีวิต และเลือดเนื้อ เพื่อประเทศชาติ ในการต่อสู้กับอริราชศัตรูมาตั้งแต่บรรพกาล ซึ่งจะสถิตย์อยู่ ณ อนุสรณ์สถานแห่งชาติ และอยู่ในความทรงจำ ของปวงชนชาวไทยตลอดไป

Ceremonial Ground

During that period, the Supreme Command Headquarters considered the building of a ceremonial space as a primary priority. Construction started on June 10, 1982, and the building was completed in November 1983.

• Ceremonial Ground is 35 meters wide and 70 meters long. This area is used to officially welcome members of the monarchs, significant Thai persons,

and important persons from other countries visiting the Thai National Memorial. The ceremonial ground can accommodate three companies of the honor guard.

• The area in front of the Ceremonial Space is adorned with six flags on each side, representing Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters Flag, Royal

Thai Army Flag, Royal Thai Navy, Royal Thai Air Force, Royal Thai Police Flag, and Volunteer Defense Corps Flag. The side of the ceremonial ground is decorated with the flag of Thailand and the national flags of the other countries that were visited, with 10 flags on each side.

• Ceremonial ground also serves as the venue for wreath-laying ceremonies on various important military occasions of both Thailand and foreign

countries. One such occasion is the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day, which is held annually on May 18th.  (previously observed on April 25 according to the old calendar). During the ceremony, wreaths are laid by the Supreme Commander, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Commissioner General, the Director of the Voluntary Defense Corps, representatives from units under the Royal Thai Armed Forces, and representatives from units under the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. After the wreath-laying ceremony, the Last Post will be played, followed by a religious ceremony, allowing participants to pay their respects and dedicate merit to those who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

• Wreath-laying is performed as a tribute to the Eternal Flame, enshrined in front of the ceremonial building. Within The Eternal Flame, there is sacred

soil collected from ten historically significant battles in Thailand. The Eternal Flame represents the pure souls of Thai patriots who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Their noble spirits will forever be enshrined at the National Memorial and remain in the hearts of all Thai people.
